On the Saturday that we were in New Orleans, we booked a day jam packed with activities. We woke up early (which was tough, considering the shenanigans on Bourbon Street the night before) and jumped on a bus for a Swamp and Plantation tour. It was such a hot and sticky experience, but both were SO much fun – and highly recommended if you’re ever booking a trip to NOLA. We were so worried about rain, since the clouds looked pretty threatening the entire time we were out, but we got so lucky. As soon as we got on the bus to go back to the hotel, the rain started falling and we just thanked our lucky stars that it didn’t interrupt the excursions that we were all so excited about.
When we got back to town, we quickly changed and grabbed a bite to eat and then headed over to Preservation Hall for the BEST jazz concert. It’s in this dingy little room and you either sit on tiny benches or pillows on the floor, or stand in the back. The music was SO good and you could tell how happy it made the musicians to be able to play for people every night.
TAKE ME BACK!
