While in New Orleans – I saw rain for the first time in months! It hasn’t rained in Southern California for as long as I can remember, so it was a nice change seeing people walking around with umbrellas and running for cover when the storm clouds started to look threatening.
On this day, we spent a portion of the afternoon watching this great jazz band in the middle of Jackson Square. We were all there, sitting on the steps with a bunch of strangers and armed with a Huge Ass Beer (seriously, it’s massive) when all of a sudden, thunder started roaring and we all got up and ran. We walked for two minutes and then the rain started coming down in sheets – but we were covered by an overhang. We decided to make a break for it – and wound up running through the rain (with our beers in hand) to Cafe Du Monde – the famous beignet and coffee stand, where we were able to wait out the rain storm.
Guys, I LOVE New Orleans.
